Required Documentation for Travel
Note that entry requirements for a country may depend on both the passenger's nationality and the destination country, so please always consult the official IATA website to confirm and supplement the information provided below.
MAIN ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Possession of a valid and current passport or travel document.
A foreigner wishing to enter Spanish territory must do so through designated entry points and have a valid travel document proving identity, considered valid under international agreements signed by Spain, without any express prohibitions.
Citizens of any European Union State, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein only need a valid National Identity Card or passport. If a minor is traveling with a National Identity Card, a parental permit must accompany it.
The document must be valid for at least three months after the intended date of departure from EU member states and must have been issued within the ten years preceding the entry date. -
Possession of a valid visa.
This requirement applies to nationals of countries listed as requiring a visa for crossing external borders (Regulation (EU) 2018/1806, of November 14, 2018), unless they hold a valid residence permit or long-stay visa issued by another EU Member State.
Foreigners holding a valid residence permit or a valid long-stay visa issued by another Schengen State may travel for a maximum of 90 days in any 180-day period through the territory of other states belonging to the Schengen area, provided they have a valid passport or travel document, justify the purpose and conditions of their stay, have sufficient financial means for their stay, and do not pose a risk to public health, public order, national security, or international relations of Spain or other countries with which Spain has agreements. They must also not appear on the national list of inadmissible persons of the respective EU Member State. -
Proof of sufficient financial means for staying in Spain and returning to or relocating to another country (entry may be allowed by reducing the length of stay proportional to financial resources, with a passport or similar document stamped accordingly).

Presentation, where applicable, of the health certificates.

Not subject to an entry ban.

Does not pose a risk to public health, public order, national security, or international relations of Spain or other countries with which Spain has agreements.

Invitation letter that solely confirms that the foreigner has secure lodging, which does not replace other required entry requirements and includes information on whether the accommodation covers all or part of their sustenance.
MAIN ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
To enter Costa Rica, you must have a ticket for onward travel or return to your country of origin.
It’s important to have your departure ticket ready to show to the Immigration officer. If you don’t have one upon arrival, you may purchase it before reaching Immigration.
If you arrive at Immigration without a departure ticket, you will be denied entry without the option to buy one.
You must hold a valid and undamaged passport.
The minimum passport validity depends on the group your nationality belongs to, according to Costa Rica’s Entry Guidelines:
- Group 1 nationals: minimum validity of 1 day.
- Group 2 nationals: minimum validity of 3 months.
- Group 3 and 4 nationals: minimum validity of 6 months.
It is recommended to carry a photocopy of your passport with the entry stamp during your stay.
You must have a visa if required.
Proof of financial solvency: US$100.00 per month of tourism.
Important notes for other nationalities:
Passengers with Honduran passport:
Minimum passport validity: 180 calendar days.
Must present a single-entry consular visa and a return or onward ticket.
Passengers with Nicaraguan passport:
Minimum passport validity: 90 calendar days.
Must present a single-entry consular visa and a return or onward ticket.
Nicaraguan citizens may also apply for a single or double-entry transit visa at Costa Rican consulates in Nicaragua and Panama, for business or work-related travel.
Passengers with Colombian/Venezuelan/other passports:
Must present a visa from Costa Rica, Schengen, USA, Canada, or a European residence certificate, along with a return or onward ticket.

A departure ticket from Mexican territory is required for all foreigners and non-residents.
Iberojet informs, in compliance with the immigration requirements of the Mexican Government, that if you do not have a visa, are a European Union citizen, and are traveling as a tourist, you may stay in Mexican territory for no more than 180 days.
A departure ticket from the country within this period may be required by border agents, whether by sea, train, bus, or air, with proof of such.
Failure to comply with this requirement may result in inadmissibility and being returned to the departure point on the same day, with you being responsible for any financial harm affecting Iberojet.
Non-EU citizens can consult with the Mexican embassy. - If you enter by air, you will no longer have to fill out the Electronic Multiple Migration Form (FMMe), nor the Multiple Migration Form in the traditional way. More information here

We hereby inform you that Mexican Immigration Authorities are conducting very thorough checks on our passengers upon arrival at Mexican airports. Passengers who cannot clearly prove that the purpose of their trip is for tourism/vacation will not be allowed entry and will be returned to their point of origin on the next available flight.

A return or onward ticket is required for all passengers, except Honduran nationals.

All travelers entering or exiting the country must complete the "Electronic Regional Travel Declaration" on the official National Institute of Migration and must present the QR code issued by the system at customs upon entering the country.

Passengers with a Costa Rican passport must present a criminal record certificate issued by Costa Rica. Holders of Costa Rican diplomatic passports are exempt from this requirement.
IMPORTANT NOTES ON DISCOUNTS FOR SENIORS (OVER 80) WITH HONDURAN PASSPORT

The passenger must prove their age and eligibility for the discount with their passport or National ID if they are Honduran, or with their passport and Resident Card if they are a foreign resident in the country.

- Children aged 1 – 10 holding a Honduran passport must show a measles vaccination card.
- If they do not have the card, they can be vaccinated at the entry points, where staff authorised by Honduran Migration will be available.
- International travellers are not required to present the vaccination card, but it is strongly recommended to carry it.
- Please check for updates and countries with active measles outbreaks on the Honduran Ministry of Health website (salud.gob.hn) and follow WHO guidance.

All non-Thai nationals entering Thailand must complete the TDAC, except those transiting without passing through immigration control or entering with a Border Pass.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE UNITED STATES:
To travel from Spain to the U.S. as a tourist or for business (less than 90 days), these are the requirements updated as of June 2025:
- Valid passport for the entire duration of your stay.
- ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization)
- Return ticket with a departure date from the U.S. within 90 days
Special restrictions
- If you have traveled to countries such as Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, Somalia, or Yemen after certain dates, you cannot use ESTA and must apply for a traditional B-1/B-2 visa.
